You mean it's still not clear?
Ok, let me explain. Each tournament this year will have a designated
"Jackpot Hole". This par-3 will be in addition to our Closest to the Pin
holes. The jackpot will be increased by $1.00 per player at each
tournament (no cost to you). With 32 players in the Scramble field, our
first Jackpot Hole will be worth $32.00. If no one wins the jackpot,
the amount will carryover from tournament to tournament until someone
wins. At that point we'll start over. Now the answer to the real
question. How do you win? No, it's not just "closest to" or we'd have a
winner at every tournament with no chance to build up a big jackpot!
Here's how it will work.
I'll have a pair of dice with me at each tournament.
One roll of the dice will produce a
number between 2 and 12. This will
be the distance (in feet) you'll need
to beat to win that day's jackpot. Now,
I said beat not tie. So a roll of 8 means
7'-11" wins while 8'-00" does not. If
more than one player beats the jackpot
distance, that day's hole will be considered a tie and the amount will
carryover. Only one, clearcut winner, can collect the cash.
Obviously, the lower the number, the more difficult to win the jackpot.
Sometime this summer you might be hitting a shot that could be worth
well over $100.00.
I hope this will bring a little excitement to another par-3 where you
could turn a day that may not be going your way into a reason to smile
on the ride home. You may just want to roll down the windows and
yell..........
