Smiley's 67 leads the President's Cup
Ross Smiley's net 67 took the first round lead in the annual President's Cup.
Ross shot 82 finishing with a 39 on the back.  One stroke behind is Chris Miguel who
shot a net 68.  Tom Sabbadini's 70 rounded out the top three.  The final round will be
played at Santa Clara on October 13.

Low team honors at Foxtail went to Ken Rachko and Bruce Bartfeld with 59.
Bruce shot net 72 (84) while Ken added a net 73 (97), making this a total team effort.  In
second place was the team of Bill Beyer and Thierry Dubois with a 61.  These two have
been among the leaders all year and were paced by Thierry's 79.  The third place team
was Terry Greiner and Dan Haynosch with a 62.  Terry and Dan both went out in 42 for a
team score of 26,  but struggled home with a 36 on the back.

Other good scores included Tom Sabbadini's 84 and an 89 from Taka Kitagawa.
Now Taka may not think that's a particularly good score but it was a net 71 on a day
when most of the field struggled.  For some of us, the only highlight was the lemonade
and brownie bites being sold by the kids at the 14th green!!

The Eagle and the Goose
You might say Jon Lazzareschi's back nine at Foxtail was for the
birds.  On the 11th hole, he holed out a sand wedge from 80 yards
for an eagle 2.  Then on the 18th hole an unsuspecting goose got in
Jon's way.  It didn't affect his score but the goose wasn't happy!
Nice eagle Jon!!!
