| Frank and Ken Thrive at the "Shoreline" |
The last time a group took a "Shoreline" like this it was June of 1944! Frank
Ruccolo and Ken Rachko led the charge with a team score of 54. Frank's 78 was a
great score that included a finish of 37 on the back nine with birdies on holes 12 and
14. Ken shot 98 but struggled on a couple of holes that inflated his score. He
actually parred 3 of the 4 par threes, two of those for net 1's! In second place with a
score of 57 was Chris and Marty Miguel. Chris broke 100 for the second straight
round for a net 68 (98). Marty shot 82 (net 66) and hit 8 of 9 greens in regulation on
the back nine for 39. Two 3-putts in that stretch did him in.
Two teams tied for third with 58. Bruce Bartfeld and Rich Perata were one of those
as Bruce shot 78 and Rich added 94. Chuck Smith and David Jurief were the other
team at 58. Chuck shot 84 to David's 90. David got off to a hot start with a 41 on the
front but 7's on 9 & 10got his back nine off to a rocky start.
There were three team tied at 59 as the Westdivots onslaught that began the week
before at Alameda, continued. Other good individual scores included a fantastic 77
from Tom Sabbadini that included an even par 36 on the front nine. Dan Haynosch
fired an 81 while Bob Drakes and Thierry Dubois shot 84's. Paul Willis carded an 85.
