| Did anyone know that Adobe Creek Golf Course was having financial troubles before we played there. I suppose if we had we could have expected the rather sad conditions we experienced. This is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. course and I'm sure he's not too happy with what's happening there. A lirttle research found that the current ownership group has defaulted on a loan and the bank is now discussing options. On the "Up" side, the layout is a nice one and the clubhouse, grand. In fact Calvin Jenn and Max Kofman had no trouble maneuvering around the track in a team 53! Their backnine 25 had no score higher than 3. Calvin's 83 was one of the best of the day while Max's net 64 provided a lot of the fire power. The second place team actually thought they had this one in the bag as they completed their 55. Larry Lind and Brian Miguel both shot excellent rounds as Larry's 89 produced the day's low net score of 62. Brian's 95 included a couple of bad holes on the back nine or it could have been one of his best ever rounds. Eleven under par is usually not a bad team score as two teams tied with 61 and didn't expect to finish 8 strokes back. Bill Beyer and Thierry Dubois both shot well (89-85 respectively) for their 61 while Jim Suekama led his team with the day's low round of 82. Jim's partner, Terry Greiner, had a net 70 and provided some key support to Jim's great round. Maybe we'll get back to Adobe Creek in the future but I think we'll let them sort out their issues first. |
