Lind & Patterson squeak by at Shoreline.
|
Joel Patterson, making one of his rare appearances since his "Life of Leisure"
(retirement) has him spending most of his time in the mountains, shot the low round
of the day leading his team to a 1 stroke victory. Joel's 84, combined with partner
Larry Lind's 95, was good enough for a team 60 and a slim victory over Marty and
Chris Miguel. Joel played a very consistent round with nines of 43-41. Larry had a
good day as well and if not for an unfortunate hole on each side, could have shot in
the 80's himself.
The second place team of Marty and Chris ham and egged it all day. Neither had a
particularly good round but still managed an 11 under par 61. Actually Chris was the
star of the backnine as he covered 8 of the 9 holes for the team with Marty finally
contributing a par at 18 for a net birdie. The third place team of Bill Beyer and
Thierry Dubois had a similar day with both shooting above their handicaps. A
backnine of 28 had them in the hunt down the stretch as Thierry put it together with a
42.
Other nice rounds at Shoreline were turned in by Bob Drakes and Jim Suekama with
88's and Calvin Jenn with 89. Terry Greiner and Gary Sakamoto had net 68's on
rounds of 97 and 101 respectively. Brian Miguel had the low net round at Shoreline
with a 67.
