Season Finally Opens at San Jose
|
Jim Gustafson had a career day at San Jose shooting an 86 for a net 60!! Ok Jim.
You had your day..........now knock it off! Jim's partner on the day was Mike Wong
who really didn't need to do much more than just go along for the ride as the team shot
14 under par 58. Mike's 85 was a good score and he played right to his handicap but
apparently Jim had it covered on this day. Jim shot 43-43 using only 13 putts on the
front nine. His only hiccup was on the difficult par 4 15th as he made 7. No worries,
Mike had it covered for the net par.
The second place team of Brian Lee and Peter Vorametsanti shot a 59 the old
fashioned way with both players contributing. Brian shot 45 on the front while Peter
picked him up with a 44 on the back. Taka Kitagawa and Sid Grant were next with a
62. Taka's net 70 led the way here as he shot a 92. Sid had some rough holes but
had a lot of good ones too as San Jose continues to be a favorite of the group as a
fair and playable course.
Other good scores on the day were an 84 from Thierry Dubois, Calvin Jenn's 85,
Marty Miguel's 86 and an 88 from Jim Suekama who played with a heavily bandaged
thumb after a Bob Villa impression went bad! Glad your doing well Jim!!!!
