Beyer / Dubois Survive Napa Heat
to Win the Marquardt Memorial
 A three-way tie heading into the final round of the Hans Marquardt Memorial
turned into a rout as Bill Beyer and Theirry Dubois were the only team to survive the
107 degree heat at Napa.  A 55 at Napa coupled with their 58 at Poplar Creek
produced a total of 113,  six shots clear of the second place team of Lew Celli and
Ross Smiley.

 Thierry started hot with a 38 on the front nine which helped the team to a 10 under
par 26 at the turn.   Thierry cooled off on the back (his game not the back of his neck)
with a 46 but Bill stepped up his game and cam home with a 43 after an opening nine
of 50.  Bill's back to back net eagles on the 11th and 12th helped produce a back nine
of 29 and their 55 team score.  Celli and Smiley shot a very nice team 60 which may
have been good enough on any other day but their 119 score was a distant second.
