| What? Rich carries Bruce at the Met!!! |
Well, I guess it was bound to happen. After all these years of "What did you shoot Bruce?",
followed by "Did Rich help at all?". We finally had the opposite. Rich Perata shot a 79 at
Metropolitan Golf Links to lead his team to a score of 56. Ok, here goes. "Did Bruce help at all?"
Actually he did. Rich's net was 59 so Bruce contributed a whooping 3 shots! Bruce shot an 81 on his
own ball but it was just all Rich, all day. Superman lives!
Our second claim to the Superman name was another 79.
This one by Frank Ruccolo who had nothing higher than a 5
on his card. Unfortunately for Frank, two of his 5's were on par
3's. Still a great round and a team 59. Partner Ken Rachko struggled but did have a bunch of low
numbers (3's, 4's & 5's), but they were surrounded by 8's, 9's & 10's. The third place team was Max
Takaki and Sid Grant with a 60. Both played fairly consistent and close to their handicaps
finishing the last four holes with net birdie, eagle, eagle, birdie.
Other good scores on the day included an 84 from Chuck Smith, 85 from Dan
Haynosch, 88 from Tony Samuolis and Thierry Dubois and 89 from Mike Wong. The course played
tough so I guess you don't need need length to be tough as we played tees measuring just over 6,000
yards.
Metropolitan will be on next year's schedule so you'll have another chance!
