| What's the saying? Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn occasionally. |
When you haven't been winning anything and you finally break through, people when
told who won have a tendency to say...............Who? Chris and Marty Miguel both
shot net 68 but it was the back nine where they won this tournament. Chris followed
a front nine 55 with a back of 45 and Marty added a 40 to his front of 44. Their team
total on the back was 27 which helped distance them from the field. Marty's round of
84 was one of the best of the day (but a far cry from the best, more on that later).
Chris played holes 13-15 in net birdie, eagle, eagle and played a huge role in the
back nine surge.
The second place teams were Tony Abdilla - Brian Miguel and Jim Gustafson -
Angelo Matheou with 59's. Brian had a few good holes but it was not his best day.
Partner Tony on the other hand played an impressive round shooting a 75 which
included 5 birdies. With nines of 38-37, Tony was the model of consistency. He
even had a few good looks at birdie, that he didn't convert. Great round!!! The 59
by Jim and Angelo was typical for them. Both shooting around net par, never in big
trouble and picking each other up. You'd think they were related! :-)
