| Jon and Brian card 5 team eagles to win at Foxtail South |
Jon Lazzareschi and Brian Miguel shot a team 56 at Foxtail South. They carded five net eagles
including a net 1, at the par 3 seventh. And to think, if only they could have putted well it could
have been even lower. They had 4 holes where they each 3 putted (or worse)! Both Jon and
Brian hit the ball well as each shot a net 70. The second place team of Alex Barna and Max
Takaki finished strong but it wasn't enough. There final 6 holes included 4 birdies and an eagle
at 18 but they finished a stroke back at 57. Alex led the way with a 95 (net 65).
Taka Kitagawa and Sid Grant also came in with 57 led by Taka's 84 on nines of 42-42. Sid shot a
net 65 of his own which included net birdies 13, 16 & 17 and a net eagle on 14. Dan Haynosch
and new member Jerry Crank shot a 58. Dan shot a nice 89 while Jerry shot 93 for a net 67. A
team bogey at 17 and "only" a team par on the par-5 18th kept them from challenging for the
lead.
Some of the other good scores recorded were Bruce Bartfeld's 82, Rich Perata's 84, Joe
Buenavista's 85 and Jim Suekama's 87. It was another tournament of putting struggles as a
quick calculation shows 807 putts recorded by 21 players for an average of 38.4 per player.
Our collective struggles are comparable to those of the Giants bullpen but I think we'll pull out
of our funk long before they do!
