Tournament Recap
Crystal Springs Golf Course
Saturday March 31, 2007
What a difference
a year makes!!
After enjoying the beautiful weather last Saturday at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame, I couldn't help but think
that a litle moisture might have slowed down those greens!!  Then I came to my senses and remembered our wash out
last year.  Focus on the positive.........we actually played golf at Crystal Springs.

Some of us didn't seem to have as much trouble on the greens as others.  Did it take anyone longer than the first hole to
realize that everything broke toward the reservoir?  Two teams tied for first place with net 60's.  Tom Sabbadini and Alex
Barna didn't seem to mind the greens using only 29 putts between them on the front nine.  Tom's 80 was the low round
of the day.  Bruce Bartfeld and Rich Perata were the other team at 60 led by an 82 from Bruce.  His 43 on the front nine
was a little unBruce-like but a 39 with 11 putts on the back nine righted that ship.  Rich added an 89 including back to
back birdies on holes 3 and 4.  Max Takaki and Sid Grant were next with a 63.  They made a total of three pars between
them and still combined for a third place team score.  Their scorecard should be a lesson to us all.  It ain't over 'til the
Debu Obasan sings.  Did I get it right Max?

Some other good scores from Crystal Springs included 87's by Bob Drakes and Jim Suekama, an 88 by Frank Ruccolo
and an 89 by Tony Samuolis.    Speaking of Frank Ruccolo, he was trying out a SkyGolf GPS  Course Tracker.  If you get
a chance, ask him what he thought of it.   Joel Patterson displayed the newest weapon added to his golf arsenal........... a
1000cc driver!!!  You can see it in the picture below.  What were you thinking Joel???  Personally I have no doubt Joel
was using 1000cc's but I'm not so sure it had anything to do with golf equipment.
