| Hiler / Miller Breeze Again |
A team 54!!! At Callippe Preserve!!! Do we need to start steroid testing? For the
second tournament in a row Steve Miller and Jack Hiler blew away the field. Jack has been the
hot hand here as he shot net 61 on his own ball. Steve had a tough day but came through on
the back nine with 3 net birdies and a net eagle. That's tough to beat on a course like Callippe.
New members Max Kofman and Calvin Jenn were a distant second with a 59. Max shot a net 64
that included going net 5 under par on the 15th and 16th holes on his own ball!! Calvin had a
good front nine with a 45 but cooled off on the back as Max took over.
Thierry Dubois and Brian Miguel were third with a 61. Thierry shot an 87 that
unfortunately included a couple of eights. Brian had a good front nine with net birdies at 1, 5, 7
& 8 but as most of us did, he ran out of gas on the back nine. A combination of the difficult
back nine and the afternoon heat drove scores up on the back nine. There were quite a few 10
shot swings from the front to the back.
Other good rounds on this day included Jim Hardy with an 82, Marty Miguel and Rich
Perata with 87's. It was nice to see Jim Hardy back on the Westdivots tour along with son
Jeremy. Jim used to come out and play in our Scrambles, usually winning them for his team.
It's nice to see him playing his own ball!
